Motion 101: Basket Cut & Back Cut

There is nothing more beautiful than moton basketball. A big part of this ebb and flow is what we call our Cutting Game. Two very important cuts are the basket cut and back cut. The basket cut is our primary cut as we feel it puts the most pressure on the defense. So whenever possible, after you pass, cut to the rim with the intention to score (give & go). Another valuable cut when you are being denied is the back cut. We like to say, "Don't fight the pressure." In other words, when you are level with the line of the ball and are not open: backdoor!

Click here and you will see both cuts on display. First you will see Lok (#30) basket cut, and then Isaac (#23) back cuts the pressure for an easy pull-up jumpshot.
