The 7 Strong R’s that define how we respond:

 

R1 – Press Pause

Get off autopilot. Ask: What does this situation require of me?
Helps avoid foolish reactions & focus on purpose.

R2 – Get Your Mind Right

Manage what you focus on and how you talk to yourself.
Adopt the Purpose Mindset: “I’m comfortable being uncomfortable.”

 

R3 – Step Up

A hammer shatters glass but forges steel.

  • Mediocre teams are destroyed by adversity.

  • Good teams survive it.

  • Great teams get better because of it.

 

R4 – Adjust & Adapt

If it’s not working, don’t blame the E. Change your R.

 

R5 – Make a Difference

Your R is someone else’s E.

Every response impacts teammates and culture.

 

R6 – Build Skill

Talent is a gift. Greatness is a choice.
Discomfort = growth. Push through it.

 

R7 – Pre-Decide

Decide now how you’ll act later.
Don’t let emotions make your decisions.
Who you are > What you do.
