Little Things, Big Results
1. Be Coachable
Great players are sponges. They listen, learn, and apply instruction. Michael Jordan was once asked what he thought his best skill was. He didn’t say dunking from the free-throw line or scoring ability. His answer:
“I was coachable. I was a sponge and aggressive to learn.”
2. Eye Contact
Respect is shown in how you listen. Eye contact demonstrates maturity and character,
regardless of how you feel at the moment.
3. Head Nods
Engaged players help their coach coach. Just like a congregation encourages a preacher with an “Amen,” players can encourage their coach with nods, energy, and body language.
4. Consistency
-
Successful players do consistently what average players do occasionally.
-
Consistency ≠ perfection. If you make a mistake, don’t make two (R.A.L.F).
-
Start with your Why — Why Power > Will Power. Knowing your “why” fuels daily habits.
-
Unity matters. You can’t do this alone. Decide now to be consistent and honor our South Titan Basketball Family.
